This research is sort of surprising and sort of not at the same time. We are all motivated by money right? Well the answer is yes and no – it depends. “Depends on what?” I hear you ask.

First Fruits

I am fizzing! Talk about spreading abundance.

It’s just so good to be a part of something you love and then it gets better! As you know I am a philanthropreneur and I work with a company that is committed to making the world a better place. Well yesterday our CEO added another wonderful way for everyone to give back right up front from the get go.

It’s called First Fruits and what it means is that when someone signs up as a distributor with our company the first thing we do, right out of their registration fee (less than $50US) is to provide clean drinking water for 1 person for 10 years. That’s right 10 years. But wait that’s not all (lol – no steak knives here) every month the same thing happens from their monthly subscription fee another person gets clean water for 10 years. So that is before any money goes in to run the company’s admin and automated systems.

How easy and inexpensive is that for us all to make a huge difference in someone’s life for a decade?

Most of us take clean water for granted but I know the person who gets the water I provide never has and never ever will. They will be so grateful and so am I to be part of this wonderful company.

Even more giving comes when I subscribe to one of our optional marketing tools each month - I feed a family of four for a week.

And when we all sell our core product 80% of the gross profits go to one of our chosen projects – clean water, feeding the children, planting trees for the future or protecting endangered species.

That is why this business exists – to make a massive difference in the world – we give to others and it comes right back to us in the form of a great income earned from home. It is spreading across the globe like wildfire!

Don’t know how it could be better (Well yes I do love it here – never done anything as rewarding as this).

Animals Deserve to Be Saved

My daughter took this picture of our dog RD holding a part of her design project. Completely accidental but I thought I’d share it because it’s such a great photo.

It’s a great message too. Animals deserve to be treated with respect and we have no right to conduct sometimes cruel and dangerous experiments on them. Hey if they’re so safe why don’t we test in on ourselves?

For some species it’s already getting to be too late. Our carelessness has caused their species to become endangered and their very existence on this plant under threat. And often for everyday people it seems like there’s nothing that we can do to make a difference – the issues are just too big. Well I don’t believe that for a moment. If we all take just one small step our efforts together can make a difference. As Lao Tzu said “A journey of a thousand miles began with a single step”

There is a way that everyday people can make a difference to endangered species and make a good living along the way. This is a completely new concept borne of revolutionary thinking – and it is revolutionary thinking that will change the plight of both animals and humans.

Graduates, Take Heed: Ignore the High-Minded Advice. Make Some Money. It’s your Moral Obligation

With its new influx of “philanthropreneurs” – philanthropists whose preferred vehicle is for-profit enterprise – the field of philanthropy is newly investigating the capacity of capitalism, rather than altruism, to render a positive change. In a different light, contemporary novelist and journalist Daniel Akst considers the same topic, addressing his short essay to graduating college students. In it he compares two graduates who want to good in the world – “Dan”, who pursues journalism hoping to write novels, and “Alex,” who works in the securities industry. Fast-forwarding twenty-five years, we find Alex the philanthropist and Dan the novelist. Who has made the world a better place? Who has made a difference? Akst doesn’t hesitate: Alex. Is he right? If one would do good, might it be an “outright moral obligation” to make money? Why or why not?

You are the Future of Philanthropy

Here is a fantastic video from TED.com by Katherine Fulton. It was recorded in 2007 and she talks about emerging trends in philanthropy.

It is not for no reason the video is called “You are the Future of Philanthropy”!

Now there is a brand new network marketing business launching soon where people can contribute not only money directly form the profits they earn but also their own time and energy to help those that cannot help themselves and to projects that are beginning to repair the damage that mankind has done to the planet.

I wonder if this is something Katherine Fulton imagined?

It’s a Beautiful Day

Once again music tells a great story – communicating with us on many levels. Here too the musicians got together to show us all what we can achieve when we commit to help people, places and creatures who cannot do it for themselves. The more we give together, the more we achieve for each other and for ourselves.Enjoy

Live 8 was, and remains a brilliant moment but what is more important is the brilliant movement of which it was a part. This gives the poorest of the poor real political muscle for the first time.
It is this movement of church people and trade unionists, soccer moms and student activists, that will carry the spirit of Live 8 on. It is this movement, not rock stars, that will make it untenable in the future to break promises to the most vulnerable people on this planet.
That was always why we put on the concerts.
